Tango - contact, that is how an Argentine Javier Cura calls his language of dance.
Together with Leilani Weis he created a performance where, through this language, they try to „speak“ about that which is usually hidden in the relationship between a woman and a man. About the illusion, an obsessive desire, vanity and frustration from the inability to overcome one´s own barriers to meet the other. The memories refuse to just disappear into the forgotten. They draw us into their hidden, mysterious corners. Connecting the elements of contact improvisation and physical theatre they tell the story of a memory which refuses to fall into oblivion. The genes of Latin-American culture in a chamber evening.

With an unusual melancholy and pain, Javier Cura and Leilani Weis examine the bonds in a couple as a relation of opposites. Tirelessly they search for their unity, without ever reaching.

…the spirit of tango in all its senses: the melancholy of love occupies all our present…
